Day to Night Maxi Dress

It’s Monday, so let’s take a break from one of the more challenging days of the work week and consider some casual looks:

On any normal day I would walk straight past the rack of crazy patterned dresses, but this maxi dress with a peacock feather pattern caught my eye at Target recently. It’s from the Liberty of London line,  a collection of dresses, skirts and tops in bright colors and intricate patterns. I’m a sucker for greens and teals, so it’s no surprise I was drawn to this one.

I imagined it as a fun day-at-the-park outfit, but Lindsay had the inspired idea that it could also function as an evening look.  The changes in accessories are important, however it was the change in hair style that really made the look go from casual park picnic to rooftop drinks in the Village. Take a look.

Also, would two peacock patterned items be too much?? Quite possibly.  However, J.Crew has already sold out, so it turns out not to be a choice I actually have to make.
