Stolen Says: Blake Lively Doesn’t Kiss and Tell

Oh the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer! With one more Macy’s fireworks show under our belts, the beach days are officially in full swing. And who better embodies summer style than Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively? She always seems to wear outfits that float her effortlessly from Mulberry Street to Montauk.

Ms. Lively’s light and breezy shirt-dress (below) is perfect for a Barbounia brunch and easily transitions to an event at, say, the Standard Biergarten. She accessorizes impeccably with a spectator-esque leather tote while running about town (left), and later with with her cutest accessory of all: Penn Badgely. He goes with everything!

Of course, her alter ego Serena Van der Woodsen is just as stylish…if not more so. In fact, Ms. Lively has mentioned in interviews that she ends up buying many of the same pieces she wears on the set of Gossip Girl. The cool hues of this dress remind us of the soft summer breeze that we all wish would sweep through Manhattan, relieving us of this dogged humidity.

Truth be told, Blake is a California girl. That must be where she acquired her ability to make even the simplest of dresses look effortlessly gorgeous, but New York has definitely rubbed off on her! Here, she looks like a Lower East Side rocker, chillin’ in her front row fashion show seats (jealous!). I love how her style says “downtown” but she still exudes a poised and polished aura. If that doesn’t say Summer Fab, what does?

No office appropriate attire here this time – it’s summer! Let’s escape the office and take our chic to the streets!
